Charles Schwertner, a Texas state senator, addressed several issues on his Twitter account in mid-July 2025, including criticism from advocacy groups, disaster recovery efforts, and a recent political endorsement.

On July 13, 2025, Schwertner responded to negative advertising allegedly funded by trial lawyers. He stated: “It has come to my attention that a dark money group funded by trial lawyers has sent out an ad attacking me for authoring conservative legislation to rein in frivolous lawsuits and protect our economy. Ironically, the very trial lawyers funding the attack would have been held”.

Two days later, on July 14, 2025, Schwertner commented on recent hardships faced by Texans and the legislative response: “Texans have suffered unimaginable loss and heartbreak, and deserve quick action. My fellow committee members and I are ready to get to work to provide recovery resources and identify long-term solutions to prevent future disasters. #txlege https://t.co/ScPCAnkcLO”.

On July 16, 2025, Schwertner announced a significant endorsement for his re-election campaign: “I’m honored to have received the endorsement of President Trump in my re-election campaign. I look forward to continuing to fight for our conservative values in the Texas Senate. Thank you, Mr. President, for your trust and support! #txlege https://t.co/7fB8hAcBBO”.

Schwertner has represented Texas in the state senate since 2013 and is known for his focus on tort reform as well as disaster response measures.
