Michael McCaul, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 10th district since 2005, recently shared his thoughts on various national and international issues through a series of tweets. Born in Dallas in 1962 and currently residing in Austin, McCaul has an educational background from Trinity University and St. Mary’s University.

On July 4, 2025, McCaul extended his wishes for Independence Day celebrations with a message expressing pride in the nation’s heritage: “Wishing everyone a wonderful 4th of July as we celebrate the birth of our great nation — the home of the brave and the land of the free. God bless America!”

Later that day, he addressed military aid to Ukraine. He highlighted conclusions from senior U.S. military officials regarding weapons provision: “Senior U.S. military officials have concluded that providing these critical weapons to Ukraine will not endanger U.S. readiness, so I urge the administration to quickly get the pipeline back up and running.” He expressed concern over Pentagon decisions potentially undermining President Trump’s efforts.

In another post on July 4, McCaul criticized Russia’s actions against Ukraine following diplomatic engagements with President Trump: “Russia’s attack last night on Ukraine makes it clear Putin is nothing more than a war criminal and a thug.” He condemned this aggression as disrespectful to peace initiatives.

Michael McCaul’s career in Congress has spanned two decades since replacing Lloyd Doggett in 2005. His statements reflect ongoing involvement in foreign policy matters concerning U.S.-Russia relations.
