Michael McCaul, U.S. Representative and chair of the House Homeland Security Committee’s Special Events Task Force, recently posted a series of updates on his social media account addressing national security, community engagement, and upcoming major events.

On August 5, 2025, McCaul expressed support for the White House’s efforts regarding the upcoming Olympics: “Thankful @POTUS is working to ensure the 2028 Olympics reflect our nation’s leadership & commitment to excellence. As chair of @HomelandGOP’s Special Events Task Force, I stand ready to work with the White House to help make the games safe, successful, & fun for all.”

The following day, August 6, he highlighted volunteer opportunities at the White House during the holiday season: “Christmas may still be six months away, but the @WhiteHouse has already opened volunteer applications to help decorate and perform at the People’s House this holiday season. Click below to learn how to apply before September 5:”

Later that same day, McCaul addressed concerns about technology theft by foreign actors: “For years, the CCP has used any means necessary to steal America’s most advanced tech & turn it against us—seriously threatening US national security. Under the Trump admin, their malign behavior will not be tolerated. I look forward to seeing these criminals brought to justice.”

Michael McCaul has held his congressional seat through several election cycles. In 2024 he won re-election against Theresa Boisseau with over 63% of the vote. Previous victories include defeating Linda Nuno in 2022 and Mike Siegel in both 2018 and 2020. These consistent electoral wins underscore his established presence in Texas politics.
