Michael McCaul, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 10th district since 2005, recently shared his views on various topics through social media. Born in Dallas, Texas in 1962, McCaul holds a BA from Trinity University and a JD from St. Mary’s University, Texas. He currently resides in Austin.

On May 18, 2025, McCaul expressed his honor at attending the inaugural Mass of Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope. As a Catholic and chairman emeritus of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Republican faction, he highlighted faith as “a great unifier — a force for peace.” The full post can be found here.

The following day, May 19, McCaul conveyed his condolences regarding President Biden’s cancer diagnosis. He noted that cancer is “a brutal disease that has impacted nearly every American’s life in some way,” adding that both President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden would be in his thoughts during the recovery process. Later on May 19, McCaul praised efforts to address the conflict in Ukraine. He acknowledged pride in “the work our president is doing” to halt unnecessary bloodshed and expressed hope that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to negotiate sincerely towards a ceasefire involving concessions.
