Michael McCaul, U.S. Representative and chair of the U.S.-Mexico Interparliamentary Group, recently documented his official visit to Mexico in a series of posts on social media. The tweets highlight meetings with American diplomats and military personnel, as well as discussions with Mexican officials regarding bilateral relations and regional security.
On February 6, 2026, McCaul wrote: “Our first stop in Mexico was the U.S. Embassy, where we received a full briefing on U.S.-Mexico relations from @USAmbMex and met with several U.S. Marines. It’s always an honor to shake the hands of brave Americans who are serving abroad in our armed forces. “
Three days later, on February 9, he posted: “@USAmbMex Thanks to Mexican Foreign Secretary de la Fuente for receiving our delegation to discuss the importance of our bilateral relationship, regional security, and countering China’s influence. Much progress has been made under the Trump and Sheinbaum administrations on mutual”
