Michael McCaul, U.S. Representative for Texas’s 10th congressional district, addressed several policy topics in recent posts on his social media account, including foreign relations, border security legislation, and tax policy.
On April 12, 2026, McCaul posted a message regarding the outcome of elections in Hungary: “I congratulate the people of Hungary on this democratic victory — the result of free elections. It will no doubt strengthen our bilateral relationship and leave the NATO alliance more united than ever.”
Turning to border security two days later, on April 14, 2026, McCaul wrote: “The more we push our borders out, the safer our homeland will be. I’m proud to reintroduce the BITMAP Authorization Act with @RepCuellar to empower our regional partners to identify and stop bad actors long before they reach U.S. ports of entry. Later that same day, he commented on tax policy as Tax Day approached: “With Tax Day upon us, Americans can expect to keep more of their hard-earn money in their own pockets.
@HouseGOP’s Working Families Tax Cuts have:
Raised the average tax refund by 11%
Eliminated tax on tips & overtime
Made the $2,200 child tax credit permanent”
McCaul has held his seat since first being elected in 2004 and has consistently won re-election by significant margins. In the most recent general election in 2024, he defeated Theresa Boisseau with 63.6% of the vote compared to Boisseau’s 34%. He achieved similar results against other challengers in previous cycles.
