Seven former Texas A&M baseball players have been named to the rosters for the 2026 MLB Spring Breakout event. The announcement was made Thursday morning.
The selected players are Chris Cortez (Los Angeles Angels), Brandyn Garcia (Arizona Diamondbacks), Kaeden Kent (New York Yankees), Justin Lamkin (Kansas City Royals), Jace LaViolette (Cleveland Guardians), Braden Montgomery (Chicago White Sox), and Kaiden Wilson (Miami Marlins).
The Spring Breakout, now in its third year, will take place from March 19 to March 22. Sixteen exhibition games are scheduled across Major League Baseball during these four days, featuring top prospects and emerging talent.
Braden Montgomery is among the most notable of the group, ranked No. 36 on MLB Pipeline’s top 100 minor league prospects list and considered the leading prospect in the Chicago White Sox organization. Other Aggies also hold strong positions within their respective clubs’ prospect rankings: Cortez is ranked No. 13, Garcia No. 20, Kent No. 13, Lamkin No. 15, and LaViolette No. 9.
All games from the Spring Breakout event will be available for free streaming on MLB.TV, MLB.com, and the MLB app. Some games will also air on MLB Network.
