Texas A&M’s Mattie Gustin named SEC Reining Rider of the Month

Mattie Gustin from the Texas A&M equestrian team has been recognized as the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Reining Rider of the Month for February, according to an announcement by the league office.

During February, Gustin competed in two meets. She earned Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors against then-No. 2 Georgia with a score of 71.75 on JJ. This was her second MOP award of the season and the seventh in her career. In another meet against then-No. 3 SMU, Gustin secured the deciding point for her team in Reining with a score of 71.75 on Tank during her final ride at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. She won by a margin of 0.75 points without any penalties.

The Texas A&M equestrian team is scheduled to compete again on Saturday, March 7, facing No. 1 Auburn at 11 a.m. at the Auburn University Equestrian Center.
