The Texas A&M Aggies men’s golf team finished in third place at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate, carding an 8-under-par 832 over three rounds at Finley Golf Club, according to an April 12 announcement.

The tournament saw North Carolina secure the team title with a score of 32-under-par 808. Duke took second place at 12-under-par 828, while Texas A&M’s performance placed them ahead of Nebraska and UNCW, who tied for fourth at two-under-par 838.

Jaime Montojo led the Aggies by tying for eighth individually with a four-under-par total of 206. Montojo closed out his tournament with a one-under final round of 69, marking his second top-10 finish in the last three tournaments. Wheaton Ennis finished tied for fourteenth at two-under-par (208), opening his play with a six-under round and maintaining steady form throughout the event.

Other notable performances from Texas A&M included Shiv Parmar tying for seventeenth at one-under (209) and Kris Kuvaas finishing tied for twenty-fifth at one-over (211). Aaron Pounds ended in forty-ninth place with a six-over total (216), while Alex Long competed as an individual and finished fifty-third at seven-over (217).

The Aggies are scheduled to return to action from April 22 to April 26 when they travel to St. Simons Island, Georgia, for the SEC Championship hosted by Sea Island Golf Club.

The team’s strong showing demonstrates their competitive standing heading into postseason play.
