The Texas A&M men’s basketball team is set to begin its Southeastern Conference (SEC) Tournament campaign at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, with play scheduled for Thursday, March 12 at approximately 8:30 p.m. on SEC Network. The Aggies will face the winner of Wednesday’s first round game between South Carolina and Oklahoma.
This tournament appearance follows a strong regular season for Texas A&M, which finished with a 21-10 overall record and an 11-7 mark in conference play. The team secured its fifth consecutive 20-win season and achieved a fourth-place finish in the SEC, marking its best result since the 2022-23 season and sixth top-five finish since joining the conference.
Rylan Griffen ended the regular season with standout performances, matching his career-high of 21 points against Kentucky and setting new personal bests with 24 points, five three-pointers, seven rebounds, six steals, and three blocks in a triple-overtime win over LSU. Griffen’s average of 1.7 steals per game has contributed to Texas A&M leading the league in forced turnovers (13.8 per game) and ranking third in steals (8.4 per game), placing them fourth among Power Four teams nationally in both categories.
Rashaun Agee has also been a key contributor, scoring at least 15 points in five of the last six games and recording double-digit rebounds in fifteen games this season. His recent double-double performance against LSU tied him with Tyler Davis for Texas A&M’s single-season record at twelve double-doubles. Agee averaged 16.1 points and 9.3 rebounds during league play and earned All-SEC Third Team honors.
The Aggies are ranked eighth nationally in scoring offense with an average of 88.5 points per game and fourteenth for three-pointers made (10.9 per game). They lead the conference—and are third nationally—in bench scoring at 36.3 points per game, thanks to contributions from Zach Clemence and Pop Isaacs.
Texas A&M previously defeated both Oklahoma (83-76) and South Carolina (92-69) earlier this season.
