The Texas A&M men’s tennis team lost to the University of Oklahoma, 4-1, in its final match of the regular season at the Weller Tennis Center on April 12.

This result marks the end of the regular season for the Aggies, who now hold a record of 17 wins and 8 losses overall, with a Southeastern Conference (SEC) record of 10-4. The Sooners improved their record to 18-5 overall and also finished SEC play at 10-4.

Oklahoma took an early lead by winning two doubles matches. In singles play, Theo Papamalamis gave Texas A&M its only point with a straight-set victory over Luis Alvarez on court one. However, Oklahoma secured three consecutive singles wins to clinch the match.

Several matches were left unfinished as Oklahoma reached four points first. Other notable results included close contests involving players from both teams across multiple courts.

Texas A&M will next compete as the fifth seed in the SEC Tournament starting Thursday at Mitchell Tennis Center. The Aggies are set to face either Vanderbilt or Alabama in their opening round.
