Texas A&M announced on Apr. 15 that 65 of its student-athletes have been named to the 2025-26 Winter Southeastern Conference (SEC) Academic Honor Roll, according to SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.

The recognition highlights the academic achievements of Texas A&M’s athletes, demonstrating their ability to balance rigorous sports schedules with strong classroom performance.

Director of Athletics Trev Alberts said, “Congratulations to all of our student-athletes who were named to the Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll. We always strive to provide our student-athletes the resources to succeed while competing and in the classroom. Although collegiate athletics has evolved, the mission of excellence in academics will always be a top priority.” Of those honored, two are pursuing master’s degrees and sixty-three are working toward bachelor’s degrees. Equestrian led all winter sports at Texas A&M with thirty selections.

Executive Associate Athletic Director of Academics and Student-Athlete Engagement Dr. Childs said, “We are incredibly proud of the 65 Aggie student-athletes recognized on the Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll. This achievement is a true testament to their relentless work ethic, discipline and commitment to excellence—balancing the demands of high-level competition while excelling in the classroom. Their success reflects not only individual dedication, but also the strong culture of academic achievement that defines Texas A&M Athletics.”

To qualify for this honor roll, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.00 either for the previous academic year or cumulatively at their institution. Additional criteria include successful completion of a minimum number of credit hours toward a degree and participation as a varsity team member throughout an entire NCAA Championship segment.

The full list includes representatives from men’s basketball (1), women’s basketball (3), equestrian (30), men’s swimming & diving (14), and women’s swimming & diving (17). The university encourages continued support for its athletes through social media platforms and its official website.
