Texas A&M to host 44 Farms Team Invitational at E.B. Cushing Stadium April 9-11

The Texas A&M Track & Field team will host the 44 Farms Team Invitational at E.B. Cushing Stadium from April 9 to April 11.

This event marks the first of two collegiate track meets for Texas A&M in Aggieland during this outdoor season, with more than 30 teams scheduled to compete over three days.

The men’s team is currently ranked No. 3 nationally and the women’s team is ranked No. 6 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. In their most recent outing at the Battle on the Bayou, Texas A&M athletes broke one school record, won two events, and added six new marks to their all-time record book.

Notable performances included Camryn Dickson winning the women’s 200m with a time of 22.69 seconds and Sam Hankins securing his second consecutive javelin title this season with a throw of 73.53 meters (241-03). Henry Zimmerman set a new school record in men’s hammer throw with a toss of 66.84 meters (219-3). Additional achievements came from Jayla Hooper in women’s hammer throw, Sophia Bendet and Peter Narumbe in the women’s and men’s outdoor records for the 1,500m respectively, Reece Sharman-Newell in men’s 800m, and Lawson Jacobs running one of the fastest times for Texas A&M in the men’s 400m.

Several Aggie athletes are among national leaders: Etoro Bassey ranks second nationally in men’s high jump while Ja’Qualon Scott is third in men’s hurdles; Dickson holds second place nationally for women’s sprints alongside Jaiya Covington (100m hurdles) and Debora Cherono (3,000m steeplechase).

A total of thirty-five teams will participate including Arkansas (women), Boise State, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas, Vanderbilt (women), Yale and others.

Tickets can be purchased through the university’s ticketing platform while results will be available on Flash Results throughout the meet.
