Twenty-five members of the Texas A&M equestrian team were recognized with American Paint Horse Association (APHA) academic honors, according to an April 8 announcement by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association.

The recognition highlights student-athletes who have excelled both in competition and in the classroom. These awards are based on participation in meets and maintaining high grade point averages during the fall and spring semesters.

Ten Aggies—Meagan Braun, Kendall Dirksen, Kate Egan, Isabelle Gonzalez, Mattie Gustin, Anna Harris, Alexa Leong, Grace Shipman, Devan Thomas and Alida Treuting—were named to the APHA All-Academic First Team. To qualify for this honor, athletes must compete in at least 70 percent of their team’s meets while keeping a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Grace DeFoe earned a spot on the second team by competing in at least 60 percent of meets and maintaining a GPA of at least 3.25. Gracie Casebolt, Kaylynn Heitman and Moriah McQueen received honorable mention distinction for participating in half their team’s meets while keeping a GPA of at least 3.0.

Additionally, twenty-two student-athletes were named to the APHA Academic Honor Roll for earning a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 during both semesters.

The full list includes multiple repeat honorees across categories such as Meagan Braun and Grace DeFoe who appeared on both all-academic teams and honor roll lists. More information about Texas A&M equestrian can be found on their official website or social media channels.
