Michael McCaul discusses congressional achievements and local engagements

Michael McCaul, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 10th district since 2005, shared insights into his recent activities and accomplishments through social media posts dated June 18, 2025.

In one of his tweets, McCaul expressed pride in having played a role in securing congressional funding for the development of a military facility. He emphasized the importance of this initiative by stating, "I am honored to have helped secure funding from Congress to develop this facility, and I look forward to seeing the historic BAM range bolster America’s military might and strengthen our national security for years to come."

During a visit to Aggieland on the same day, McCaul had an opportunity to engage with local leaders. He mentioned meeting with several prominent figures including Mayor Nichols, Mayor Gutierrez, and Chamber President Glen Brewer. McCaul reflected on this interaction saying, "While in Aggieland, I enjoyed visiting with the @BCSChamber—including Mayor Nichols, Mayor Gutierrez, & Chamber President Glen Brewer. It's always a privilege to share about my work in Washington & to hear directly from community leaders about the pressing issues impacting."

Furthermore, McCaul paid tribute to Chancellor John Sharp at his retirement ceremony. Acknowledging Sharp's contributions to Texas A&M University System (TAMU), he noted that no one has done more to transform and elevate the institution than Chancellor Sharp. He tweeted, "No one has done more to transform, expand, & elevate the @TAMU System than Chancellor John Sharp. Linda & I were honored to give remarks at his retirement ceremony today."

Michael McCaul was born in Dallas in 1962 and currently resides in Austin. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University.
