Michael McCaul, who has represented Texas’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress since 2005, recently addressed several key issues through his social media posts. McCaul, who chairs the Homeland Security Committee’s Task Force on Securing the Homeland Amidst Special Events, discussed national security preparations for upcoming international sporting events, concerns about Chinese government influence, and legislative efforts to improve pediatric cancer treatment.

On July 15, 2025, McCaul stated: "Proud to chair @HomelandGOP's Task Force on Securing the Homeland Amidst Special Events. Together we can ensure the FIFA World Cup and Olympics highlight America's commitment to excellence while keeping our athletes — and millions of spectators — safe." In this post, he emphasized collaborative efforts to maintain safety during major events such as the FIFA World Cup and the Olympics.

Later that day, McCaul addressed U.S.-China relations. On July 15, 2025, he posted: "The CCP poses a tangible threat to U.S. national security. That's why I’ve dedicated so much of my career to combating their malign influence at home and abroad, which led to being personally sanctioned by the Chinese government." He also encouraged viewers to watch his interview with NTD News regarding these concerns.

In another post on July 15, 2025, McCaul highlighted bipartisan support for healthcare legislation: "Proud to announce more than 200 of my House colleagues have cosponsored my Give Kids A Chance Act! I strongly urge the House to pass this bipartisan bill, which will provide kids with greater access to cutting-edge treatments — giving them their best shot at beating cancer."

Michael McCaul was born in Dallas in 1962 and currently resides in Austin. He holds a BA from Trinity University (1984) and a JD from St. Mary’s University (1987).
