U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul, who represents Texas’ 10th district, shared updates on his official Twitter account on July 22, 2025, including remarks about congressional leadership and security for major events.

In a post at 17:34 UTC, McCaul extended congratulations to a colleague: "Congratulations, @RepGarbarino! Congressman Peter King of New York's second district was chairman when I entered Congress after 9/11. I am confident Andrew will carry on his legacy of strong leadership on the committee! Looking forward to working with him to continue advancing https://t.co/DGiR9ZmisW".

Later that day at 18:00 UTC, McCaul announced his role in a new congressional initiative focused on public safety: " I'm chairing the first hearing of the Task Force on Enhancing Security for Special Events in the U.S. We'll examine past security challenges at mass gatherings with the goal of preventing, detecting, & responding to threats at upcoming events on U.S. soil. Tune in now:".

He continued addressing concerns over large-scale gatherings at 21:11 UTC: "Though mass-spectator events present an opportunity to showcase American excellence, our adversaries & violent extremists will view them as targets for inflicting mass casualties & generating fear. Michael McCaul has served in Congress since 2005 and replaced Lloyd Doggett as representative for Texas’s 10th District. Born in Dallas in 1962 and currently residing in Austin, he graduated from Trinity University with a BA in 1984 and earned a JD from St. Mary's University three years later.
